2013 Impact Rookies by Position

Quarterbacks

Rk Player Team

Outlook

1. EJ Manuel Buffalo Big arm, physical magnitude, and inconsistent. Needs to evolve to start. Watch for Kolb and Jackson to disintegrate, that's the point Manuel takes over.
2. Geno Smith NY Jets He's an inconsistent, fierce competitor.  How hard can it be to displace Sanchez......
3. Matt Barkley Philadelphia Intelligence supersedes his lack of physical attributes. Could fill the Philly QB void if Vick and Foles don't step it up.
4. Tyler Wilson Oakland Wilson has an opportunity to compete with Flynn for the starting job in Oakland.
5. Mike Glennon Tampa Bay An interesting alternative to Freeman. Glennon brings enough talent to put Freeman on the hot seat, but he'll need some leadership skills before taking the job.

Running Backs

Rk Player Team

Outlook

1. Le'veon Bell Pittsburgh A nimble runner that participates in the passing game. The job is his to lose on a team that runs.
2. Eddie Lacy Green Bay A dominant runner that can tear through defenders.  Lacy has the ability to bring the running game back to the pack.
3. Giovani Bernard Cincinnati Everything the law firm is not - he'll be a good compliment that can catch and run.
4. Montee Ball Denver Durability questions with the current backs open some doors. He has a few miles on his legs, which have given him the experience to propel him thick into the running back by committee of the Broncos.
5. Christine Michael Seattle Michael brings solid skills to a talented team. He can add to an already strong backfield if he can keep the injuries and off the field hubbub under control.

Wide Receivers

Rk Player Team

Outlook

1. Tavon Austin St. Louis Small, agile WR with scorching speed. Will nicely fill the gap created by the loss of Amendola and Gibson.
2. DeAndre Hopkins Houston Athletic and physical. With the departure of Walter and the Achilles injury to Posey, Hopkins should earn a starting role. A nice complement to Johnson's downfield ability.
3. Aaron Dobson New England The deep threat the Patriots have been missing. He'll get time on the field.
4. Robert Woods Buffalo A tough player and strong route runner, Woods is just what the doctor ordered.
5. Keenan Allen San Diego If his knee and ankle injuries don't nag, his dependability as a route runner will give him some opportunities.

Tight Ends

Rk Player Team

Outlook

1. Tyler Eifert Cincinnati Gives the Bengals a 2 tight end option. This guy can get verticle.
2. Zach Ertz Philadelphia It's a new day in Philly and the year of the multiple tight end set. Celek remains the starter but Ertz will see some action.
3. Kasa / Rivera Oakland The Raiders are in dire need of a TE and Nick Kasa or Mychal Rivera should win the spot.
4. Vance McDonald San Francisco Medicore talent on the team that LOVES the two tight end set.
5. Travis Kelce Kansas City Kelce joins a team in transition which may give this athletic, versatile TE an opportunity to make an impact.
