2011 Game by Game #3

Game By Game: Week 3

By Ryan Schoon

Lots of offense so far in the first two weeks...Brady breaking records, Cam throwing for more yards in two games than I thought he'd have after week 6!  But where are the running backs?  CJ gets his money and cranks out 53 yards on 24 carries?  Really?  Ray Rice 43 yards?  Mendenhall 66 yards against Seattle?  I wish I would have drafted a few more receivers....

Summary:  Well...I'm going Brady and the Pats here and rightfully so I think.  I like Fitzpatrick and the Bills a lot, glad to see them playing well but at the same time I don't think they're ready to hang with the big boys just yet.  Steve Johnson limped off last week...I'll update status later in the week but for now we'll consider him playing.  Pats TE Aaron Hernandez is going to miss 4-6 weeks with a sprained MCL and for that reason I like Ocho to finally show up this week especially with Brady defending him on Monday.

Summary:  Both these teams are actually playing better than I thought they would.  The Niners hung with the Cowboys last week and really shoulda won that game.  Dalton and the Bengals look like they could have somthing going forward with AJ Green, Benson and Gresham.  Another tight game for these two teams but in the end I like the Niners to pull it out.

Summary:  Gotta take the home team here.  Plus the Dolphins are just crappy.  I had hope for this team adding Bush and Thomas to Henne and Marshall but they just can't seem to bring it all together.  Not that Cleveland is setting the world on fire but at least they beat the Colts on the road last week.  I like Hillis in this for another good game and I like Thomas and Marshall for the Dolphins.

Summary:  I'm taking the Titans....like the way they look and Chris Johnson should be back to somewhat of a normal workload and output this week.  Kenny Britt is a freakin STUD!  The best thing that could have happened to him was Matt Hasselbeck coming to Tennessee.  Nate Washington isn't too shabby either.  Denver is a hot mess...Tebow as a 4th WR?  REALLY??  Moreno...who knows if he'll be back this week but truth be told, McGahee wasn't all that bad in his absence.  Will Brandon Lloyd wuss out again this week?  Just too many questions around Denver.

Summary:  Lions 3-0?  HELL YES!  The Vikings suck straight ball sack, folks...someone call Brett and ask him to come back because he'd be better than McNabb!  Adrian Peterson is all the Vikings have and he can't carry this team all by himself.  The Lions are RED HOT!  Stafford, Best, Megatron and Burleson all look great.  Suh and that defense aren't half bad either.  When was the last time the Lions started 3-0?

Summary:  Big game here for all fantasy players concerned.  I love this match-up in the dome and I like the home team to squeeze out a win.  Saints are just tough at home....Brees will throw for a ton to Henderson and Meachem with some Jimmy Graham (how good was he Sunday?).  Not to be forgotten are the Texans who can and will put up some points on this Saints defense.  I like Schaub to Johnson but I also like the only running back left not dinged up Ben Tate.  Foster re-injured his hammy and that will now linger all year.

Summary:  Tough game to pick here...let's put it this way, IF Vick doesn't play then I like the Giants...IF Vick plays then I like the Eagles.  YES, one man makes a difference in this one.  Right now if you pressed me for a call on Vick I'd say sit him, I don't think he'll play.  Which means I'm taking the G-Men by 4 (Eli keeps it close with a pick or two)  Manningham is likely out with a concussion this week........

Summary:  Cam gets his first win as a pro!  Yes sir, I like the Panthers in this one.  Cam made me look like crap last week when I said he wouldn't throw for 400 yards on the Packers and he did just that...I'm a believer, Cam!  Now please get DeAngelo and that running game going a bit more!  The Jags are lost...good move cutting Garrard!  McCown should be riding the pine...and he might this week as no starter has been named yet by the Jags.

Summary:   No brainer for me here....this will be my #15 ranked game in the office pool.  Cassel is struggling and now Jamaal Charles is lost for the season.  Tough breaks for KC.  Rivers and the Chargers high powered offense should have ZERO problems at home taking KC down.  Big games for Rivers, VJack and Gates.  Look for McCluster to step up here with Jamaal down...8 carries for 51 yards on the Lions.

Summary:  Believe it or not I like a tight game.  McFadden will keep the Raiders in this game.  Sanchez looked like crap last week and Plax didn't catch one ball last game and Sanchez was picked twice.  Shonn Greene had 16 carries for 49 amazing yards...just an FYI that's a whopping 3.0 yards per carry...someone get LT the damn ball please!  Holmes played injured last week too...I like the Jets to pull this game out but just barely.

Summary:  Two weeks and two totally different Ravens teams...I sure hope Flacco shows up this week.  The Rams are just too beat up to win.  I'm sorry but as much as I like Bradford and SJax I gotta take the Ravens in this one by 7.  I like Ray Rice to continue to be a beast for all our teams and Flacco needs to look for Dixon and Pitta like Brady does with his TE's and he'll have great success.

Summary:   Finally Kolb hits Fitzgerald!  All that time in Arizona over the summer with Fitz finally paid off for Kolb.  I like the Cards in this one for two reasons.  Fitz (obviously) and believe it or not, Beanie!  Yes, Wells is running pretty good.  The Seahawks are still without Sidney Rice and they're not sure he'll be available this week...torn labrum and he's trying to play through it...good luck with that, bro.

Summary:  Big win for Atlanta last week but I gotta think that if Vick would have finished that game the Falcons would have lost.  On to a new week and traveling to Tampa.  The Bucs pulled out a come from behind on the Vikings (which was great) and they got Blount rolling (told you guys not to give up on him!).  Another tight game but I'm going to give the edge to Atlanta this week.  Still a good week for fantasy players thought.  Roddy White is due a HUGE week....just sayin.

Summary:  Packers vs Bears!  LOVE this game.  Should be hard hitting and good scoring as both these offensive teams can put up points.  I like the Pack but by just 3 points.  Forte is having a heck of a start to the season and he'll find room on the Packers D running and receiving.  If the Bears had ONE STUD WR they would win this game.  The Packers seconardy is full of holes!  And someone please explain to me why in the HELL Starks isn't getting 15-20 carries a game?  The guy gets it going and he just looks better than Grant.  Sorry...call it like I see it.

Summary:  Word is Romo has a cracked rib and punctured lung...that's ungood and Miles Austin is now shut down until after the Cowboys Week #5 Bye.  I will update his status at the end of the week but I'd be ready to roll without Romo this week on your fantasy team.  I really like this game to come down to the wire in a dog fight (sorry Vick).  Fred Davis is a MUST HAVE at Tight End if you need to fill a hole, the guy is a beast.  Cowboys WR Dez Bryant was a no-go last week and I'll get his status udpdated after more news comes out and Felix Jones looks iffy too so Choice and Murray look to carry the load.  (Pickups - Choice, Murray, and Holley) Cowboys are BANGED UP!
