2011 Game by Game #7

Game By Game: Week 7

By Ryan Schoon

And here we go with week #7 projections.  Injury concerns are in RED with question marks.  The Oakland QB situation is up in the air and Brandon Lloyd got traded to the Rams on Monday morning.  The Vikings and Redskins won't name starting QB's until Wednesday so we'll go with our gut on who we think will be starting.  Good luck and enjoy the reading.

Summary:  The Madden Curse continues....Peyton Hillis has had Strep Throat and now he's got a Hammy issue.  If you own Hillis (and I do in two leagues) then you're also feeling the frustration of his lack of of performance on the field when he actually is healthy.  Look for Hardesty to start this week.  Seattle coming off the bye, they're rested and ready to go.  I like Seattle this week but I have to give credit where it's due and McCoy hasn't been bad.  2 TD tosses last week.  Look for a decent fantasy week from some of these players on both teams but I like Seattle to pull out the win.  By the way...Tarvaris Jackson has NOT been ruled out this week.

Summary:  This is painful....I'm picking against my Lions.  They really blew the game last week against the Niners and in true Lions fashion I'd look for that hangover to impact this game.  The Falcons on the other hand are coming off an impressive win and getting back to the run game.  Look for Turner to have a good game again this week and carry the Falcons to victory.

Summary:  The sooner Andre Johnson gets back the better for everyone concerned!  I like the Titans this week (in fact I like almost everyone coming off the bye) at home coming off the bye.  Chris Johnson should find some room and Hasselbeck has been pretty darn good this year so far.  I do like Arian Foster to get back to the century mark and score.  I only like Schaub for one TD pass though.

Summary:  And the Tebow crap begins.......I think you'll see a large dose of McGahee and Moreno to start off and I do like the Broncos to win this game, but only because Miami sucks royally.  The Dolphins suck so bad QB David Garrard turned down 1 million bucks to play for them.  I'm sorry but if I'm unemployed I'm signing!  The Dolphins need a complete makeover, new ownership and management.  The Broncos should win with Tebow at the helm.

Summary:  This game provides interesting match-ups for the Jets on D.  Like who covers Vincent Jackson?  If Revis, then who covers Antonio Gates? (who I expect back this week) Surely not a linebacker?  I can't wait to see what the Jets D does with this offensive powerhouse.  Rivers is throwing for a ton a game and mixing in Mathews a lot.  I like the Chargers on the road.  Sanchez has been okay but okay just isn't good enough and Shonn Greene is just now starting to run like an NFL running back but he's not all the way there yet.  Bolts win by 3.

Summary:    Tampa Bay is bipolar....one week they're impressive the next they couldn't beat Indy.  However, I like the Bucs.  I like the attitude they have and I like the way they play.  I'm hoping they make the playoffs this year.  Freeman is coming around (hope you guys held him!) and his receivers are playing better as well.  Now if we could get Mike Williams to pay dirt I think you'll see these guys really start playing well each week.  I like Forte to have a nice fantasy week and I like Sanzenbacher for a score but not much else.  Freeman for 2 scores and Graham for one.  Bucs win at home.

Summary:  Ugh....how to pick this game?  Both these teams looked horrible last week.  Redskins largely in part to Grossman's 4 picks and that's been fixed with Beck starting (I'm assuming he's starting this week, official word Wed).  Cam sucked on a whole new level last week and as a result Steve Smith just vanished.  I don't think that will be the case this week at home.  I like Cam to bounce back and Steve Smith to rack up some yards and a score.  DeAngelo should take his turn for a good game (Stewart's was last week) and the Panthers should win this.  (One of Cam's TD is Rushing)

Summary:  Steelers should murder the Cardinals....end of story.  I like Mendenhall to run and run and run.  I like Big Ben to be able to sit back in the pocket and just play pitch and catch all day.  I also expect Kolb to get pressure and play like crap.  After 6 weeks we all know what to expect...LFitz will continue to suffer until they get someone opposite him to pull that double team off.  Steelers roll.

Summary:   The Raiders have lost Campbell and have reached out to David Garrard but Garrard has opted to have back surgery...really?  You waited this long to have your back fixed??  We'll have to see how this Raider QB situation shakes out before I predict too much more success for the Raiders, but they have some good pieces on this team.  Cassel and KC coming off the bye and if he can hit Bowe and Breaston at will then this will be a good game.  I still like the Raiders at home but I like them even more if they find a QB somewhere.

Summary:  pfft...as if this will even be a game?!?!?!  The Packers roll into Minny and whoop that ass!  The Vikings are horrible.  12 carries for AP last week....that's just wrong.  Get your playmakers the damn ball!  I really don't have much to say on this...I mean look for Rodgers to toss for 300 and 3 again.  Just another ho-hum day for the best QB in the NFL right now.

Summary:  And another butt kicking in the making.  Cowboys are playing good football...you can't look at that record and think it's because of bad play.  They've had some great teams beat them (like the Pats last week) and still they were in just about every game so far.  The Rams come to down having not won a game and they'll leave town having not won a game!  Big days for Romo, Austin, Bryant and company.  **Breaking news:  The Rams just traded for Brandon Lloyd from the Denver Broncos and cut Mike Sims-Walker.**

Summary:   Another team that will remain winless this week...the Colts.  I like Drew Brees and the Saints at home just about no matter who they play.  Now Painter isn't horrible and Donald Brown looked alright last week but lets face it, without Manning this team just flat out sucks.  The Saints on the other hand can put up points fast and they will against this Colts D.  Saints roll to an easy win this week on Sunday Night Football!
