2011 Game by Game Week #11

Game By Game: Week 11

By Ryan Schoon

Here we are week #11 and the last of the "bye" teams and of course the "Thursday" night games continue.  Next week....THANKSGIVING!  Breaking news...QB Matt Schaub is OUT for the year with a lisfranc injury.  Vick broke two ribs....status uncertain.  Matt Cassel looks done for the year as well with a broken hand that will require surgery.  Matthew Stafford has a fractured finger and Knowshon Moreno has a torn ACL.  WR Julio Jones is banged up, Willis McGahee is banged up.  The list goes on.....

(Note for next week....all Pigskin writing will be done by Wednesday)

Summary:  Tomlinson has a sprained MCL and being that this is a Thursday game I'd guess he'll not be making this trip.  I like the Jets but not by a lot.  This Denver team keeps finding ways to win and Sanchez and the Jets keep finding ways to blow it.  Expect a healthy dose of Shonn Greene so Sanchez doesn't throw a ton of picks.  Jets by 3 on the road.

Summary:  Looks like the Falcons will have to account for CJ this week as he is starting to heat up a bit.  I like CJ for 100 combined and a score.  Hass will hit one of his targets for a score as well but in the end the Falcons have too many weapons and pull this out.  The only caveat to this game is the Falcons could suffer a hangover from the Saints game last week...in which case the Titans will thump them, but I'm leaning more towards the Falcons kick some Titan arse.

Summary:  The Browns are pretty bad....the Jags are no super stars but they'll win this game off of their defense and MJD.  Gabbert will add a TD pass and Cleveland won't do much of anything.  No Hillis, no Hardesty and Massaquoi is said to be improving but who knows if he'll play.  Missing all these guys and now TJ Ward out on defense...they're a mess.  Jags should roll.

Summary:  The Lions are banged up...Calvin is hurt and in question this week and Stafford has a fractured finger.  This doesn't look all that great for the Lions.  The good news is the Panthers come to town.  Shut down Newton and Smith and you win.  EASIER said than done but this is almost must win for the Lions if they want in the post season.  The Bears have the same record and we all know the Pack are winning this division.  I think Calvin plays and I think the Lions squeak one out.  (Cam's TD is rushing)

Summary:  Well we all know the Packers are the best team in the NFL right now but I gotta tell ya....this might be one of the best teams I've ever seen!  This Packers team has a chance to go undefeated....just look at the schedule:  Tampa this week....Giants on the road (toughest one) Lions on Thanksgiving, Oakland, KC, Chicago and then Detroit.  Oakland comes to the Tundra as does Chicago and Detroit.  Needless to say the Pack win this game BIG.

Summary:    Bills are trending down.......Miami trending up.  Stevie Johnson looks questionable and I just like the way Moore, Bush and Marshall are playing.  Should be a good game with good fantasy scoring all the way around.  Fred Jackson will get his and I like Bush and Marshall to put up good numbers.

Summary:  I said it a couple days ago and I'll say it again....these are not the Raiders your used to seeing.  This team has the potential to make some noise and it starts here, on the road in Minnesota.  If the Raiders hold AP to 100 and a score they'll win.  Palmer is getting better each week and Michael Bush is a beast.  Jacoby Ford looks questionable for this one...

Summary:  Should be a blowout.  Yeah I know there's a rivalray here...blah, blah, blah.  This team is devastated with injury (Hankerson to the IR and he was the bright spot last week!) and Rex Grossman is back running the ship.......need I say more?  I mean really?  Romo with a running game (Murray) is unreal and just what the doctor ordered.  Boys roll.

D           5 D           7

Summary:   AJ Green is downplaying his knee injury...it was hyper-extended and that isn't something you just bounce back from in 6 days.  I'm very skeptical on if he can play.  I'll update his status and maybe this score on updated game by game Saturday.  For now the Ravens should RUN Ray Rice and take the damn ball outta Flacco's hands (52 pass attempts last week is just stupid).  Run Rice, play action to Boldin and those two beastly tight ends...play good D and you'll win.

D           5 D           7

Summary:  Skelton gets a third start and this offense actually looks better with him in there...but, going to San Francisco is tough.  This team plays like it's head coach just tough as nails and they don't ever give up.  God I wish John would have went to Michigan instead!  hahahahahahha!!  I like the Niners but not in a blowout.  The Cards are playing a bit better.

Summary:  Marshawn Lynch has a wrist injury...not sure how bad but if he can't go I don't like Seattle in this one especially when you add in Rice and Baldwin both have concussions...who's going to catch the ball?  Bradford isn't on fire but his ankle is getting better and he clearly has no problem hitting Lloyd.  Do I even need to say SJAx is a beast?  Okay, he's a freakin BEAST!  He'll have a good game for you.

Summary:   Bears aren't playing very good on offense....I think Culter had 3 fantasy points last week or something like that.  Forte is amazing though and that defense will give Rivers problems.  The Bolts just aren't doing it for me this year and if the weather in Chicago is bad this week I really like the Bears to win.

Summary:  Vick has two broken ribs...Maclin thinks he's Batman and DeSean is just being a little wussy about his contract.  HUGE turmoil in Philly right now and no end in sight.  The G-men need a win and I think between Eli and his WR's they'll be able to pull it out.  It sure would help a lot if Bradshaw was back but no word on that yet.  Will update you later in the week.
