The scoop

QB Vince Young With the recent report that Michael Vick suffered two broken ribs in yesterday's demoralizing loss to the Arizona Cardinals (nasty helmet hit to the back, I thought initially he had his wind knocked out...) the bigger, slower, less mobile version of Vick could get the starting nod in Week 11 against the Giants. My apologies for the less than enthusiastic support for Young - he may very well perform admirably, the Giants secondary stinks, RB LeSean McCoy is there as are a solid corps of wide receivers. If you are a risk taker, shun conventional wisdom, and give Young a whirl.

QB John Skelton Like QB Joe Webb a year ago, a virtually unknown backup QB comes to the forefront against the Eagles and does them in. Ok, so I admit considering Skelton in redraft leagues is crazy, but in Dynasty formats with deep rosters, he more than earned future considerations. Over the past few weeks he has outplayed QB Kevin Kolb, so it will be very interesting to see how the Cardinals utilize him moving forward.

QB Matt Leinart Yes, the ex-Arizona Cardinal is now backing up QB Matt Schaub in Houston - just in case anyone corners you at the water cooler and hammers you with questions regarding Leinart's whereabouts. To make things even more interesting, reports are Schaub has a significant foot injury and will miss the rest of the season. Now that you've located Leinart, news is he'll get the start in Week 11. Attempt to contain your excitement - grab him if you're in a real pickle at QB. Man, is it just me or does this guy have more than 9 lives??

QB Dan Orlovsky Stop it, Dan. Stop it!! I mean me, for mentioning Mr. Orlovsky this week. Ok, so he's not punching his ticket for the All Pro Game, heck he hasn't even pried the starting gig away from QB Curtis Painter yet. However it bears to mention that should Orlovsky get his chance, he certainly has a plethora of tools at his disposal to succeed. Of course, he could play as well as Painter and effectively negate all of the offensive talent around him, but...

QB Tyler Palko Unless you are Mr. and Mrs. Palko, move along. Only exception is in Dynasty formats, as QB Matt Cassel is likely done for the season and Palko gets an opportunity to audition for fantasy roster consideration. Thank God the bye weeks are ending.

RB Lance Ball I will preface this by saying that RB Willis McGahee could have returned in an "emergency", and Tim Tebow is obviously more of a runner than a thrower at the QB position, so take Bell's inclusion here with a grain of salt. The Broncos certainly gave Ball an opportunity to succeed Sunday as he carried the pigskin an astounding 30 times. Early news is RB Knowshon Moreno will miss the rest of the season with a torn ACL, so Bell becomes even that more interesting.

RB Kendall Hunter You'll want to keep an eye on the knee injury and subsequent status of starting RB Frank Gore, but if he misses any time, Hunter will again be the man in the meantime. If you are a Gore owner, you should have Hunter already stashed away for such and occasion, but if you don't I'd snap to it and make a play for his services immediately.

RB Marion Barber Had his TD streak broken this past Sunday against the Lions, but Barber has definitely shown a nose for the end zone this season, and if you are in a touchdown heavy league, he is more than worth your consideration. Also bear in mind in the event of an injury to RB Matt Forte, Barber could become quite the popular guy in fantasy circles in quick order.

RB Danny Ware If Ahmad Bradshaw continues to miss time with the cracked bone in his foot, and Brandon Jacobs continues to play in a way that caused the aforementioned Bradshaw to emerge in the first place, DJ Ware could pose an interesting option for the Giants. Granted the Niners are rather stout against the run, but Ware showed some spark and versatility that was hard to ignore. I would certainly make a play for Ware in Dynasty formats and if Bradshaw's injury woes continue he is worth grabbing in re-draft leagues as well.

RB Kevin Smith Ok, so he didn't cause anyone's head to spin Sunday afternoon, with only a handful of carries and a small amount of yards gained. He could also very well find himself again unemployed if and when RB Jahvid Best is cleared to play. However, given Smith's prior injury woes, his progress was worth noting and if he continues the upswing, it could very well lead to opportunities elsewhere in the league this or next season. Pick him up and set him aside in Dynasty formats and see how things work out. You never know.

WR Denarius Moore Despite being a staunch Darrius Heyward- Bey supporter, I would be remiss if I didn't mention the standout performance from Moore this past Thursday night. If you rewind the season a bit, he was on every fantasy owner's lips and then went back into obscurity as quickly as he emerged. Well, he's back and if he continues to be on QB Carson Palmer's radar, he certainly should be on yours.

WR Harry Douglas As I said above, in many cases injuries to higher profile starters create opportunities for lesser known players to come in and showcase their wares. Well, that was definitely the case with Douglas, as WR Julio Jones again hurt his hamstring against the Saints. Douglas stepped up, moved the chains and was a big focal point of the Falcons offense. Keep a close eye on news regarding Jones, and if he is unable to go in Week 11, Douglas is someone to consider if you are in need at WR.

WR Santana Moss If you were looking for WR Leonard Hankerson after his stellar performance this past Sunday, forget it - he's out for the season with a torn labrum. However, if you are in a league where there original Moss owner got impatient or had to cut him loose for roster reasons and he's available on the wire, make a play for him NOW. News is starting to circulate that Moss could be available as soon as Week 12.

WR Damian Williams I was under the impression that in light of WR Nate Washington being hampered by the hip injury either Lavelle Hawkins or Williams would step up. Well this week it was undoubtedly Williams who had quite an afternoon. A welcome balance on offense was a welcome sight, as RB Chris Johnson finally gave us a taste of what has been expected all season, and it certainly opened up things downfield and Williams was the benefactor. If this trend continues in Week 11, move Williams up your list and considering adding him to your squad.

TE Ed Dickson Love this kid! He's been up and down all season, but that is to be expected given the position. This past Sunday reminded everyone what he is capable of, and if an owner in your league got impatient and soured on Dickson and dropped him, do yourself a favor and welcome him onto your squad.

TE Jermaine Gresham Returning in style after a hamstring injury kept him sidelined, Gresham hauled in a touchdown pass this past week should be a fixture moving forward for the Bengals, especially if WR AJ Green misses any time due to the hyper-extended knee. I think Gresham could be the biggest benefactor, over Simpson or Caldwell.

TE Delanie Walker Would you believe me if I told you that Walker has more red zone looks than his much heralded teammate TE Vernon Davis? That is worth noting, as yardage is always tough to count on, but if you can find a TE who is getting targets and looks inside the twenty, that is something to consider.
